Rebranding in Process
Something new is coming.
Emergency nurses have spent decades proving they can survive. We're building something focused on helping them thrive.
Nurse Rescue Project: From Surviving to Thriving.
Coming soon.
Nurse Rescue Project is evolving.
When Nurse Rescue Project was founded, the goal was simple: support nurses facing the challenges of one of the most demanding professions in healthcare.
But over time, something became clear.
Emergency nurses do not need another reminder to be resilient.
We have spent years proving we can survive.
We survive overcrowding, staffing shortages, workplace violence, moral distress, and impossible expectations. We adapt. We persevere. We continue showing up.
The question is no longer whether emergency nurses can survive.
The question is whether we are willing to build systems, cultures, and professional environments where nurses can truly thrive.
Over the coming months, Nurse Rescue Project will be expanding its mission and resources to focus on workforce sustainability, leadership development, advocacy, professional growth, and creating the conditions that allow emergency nurses to flourish throughout their careers.
This next chapter is inspired by a simple belief:
Survival should never be the measure of success.
Thriving should be.
Stay tuned as we unveil new initiatives, resources, research, and opportunities to join a growing movement dedicated to helping emergency nurses move from surviving to thriving.
The future is coming.
And we're just getting started.
The Emergency Nurses Association has noted that:
The crisis has significantly affected emergency nurses and other health workers.
Many have left the profession. Others have attempted or committed suicide.
According to the 2020 CDC report, 54 percent of essential workers, a category that includes health care workers, reported having at least one negative mental or behavioral health condition.
Data from the CDC’s National Violent Death Reporting System indicates that nurses die by suicide at significantly higher rates than non-nurses.
Moreover, health care professionals, including emergency nurses, often feel stigmatized or that their professional future will be at risk if they seek assistance for mental health issues.
Clearly, more needs to be done to promote the mental and behavioral well-being of health care workers risking their lives to care for their communities.
By fully supporting these professionals, they are better able to serve their patients and their communities.
